Supporting organization needs help

Dear Supporters of Karen's Healing Journey,

Thank you everyone for your kind response and acknowledgment of Karen's One Year Anniversary last week, March 21st. It is hard to believe she has already been gone for an entire year. Life continues to move forward and time brings more and more acceptance and healing for me. It was this time last year that we were rounding up support for the 2nd benefit to help Karen and I deal with the expenses incurred while she was ill. You were all very generous during those two years (2008 & 2009). The first prize for the raffle during those two fund drives was a One Week Vacation in Ireland.
This year Lindsey's Place, a young non-profit organization (established in 2008 by our daughter and her husband) is having a raffle to raise money and the 1st prize is also One Week Vacation in Ireland including a 4 bedroom house (wheel chair accessible), rental car and $1000 voucher for airfare. This organization's mission is to help young disabled children via providing them with a camp to enjoy their summers. They are currently working toward gathering seed money to get their organization off the ground and help is desperately needed; just as their dream and cause is desperately needed for those young and less fortunate people.

Please see the info below. The chances are $10 each, 6 for $50 and the raffle with be held on May 2, 2010. You can purchase on their web site or if you would like you may contact me at this e-mail address and I will arrange for your ticket delivery.

NEW YEAR MESSAGE 2010

Supporters of Karen's Healing Journey,

It is hard to mentally wrap my mind around the fact that it has been about 9 1/2 months since Karen left this physical world. One of Karen's favorite comments to me was "its a sign, Bud (she and I called each other Bud or Buddy)" and true to form, I have seen many signs of her since last March 21st. I have seen them in:

> the strange appearance of a little turtle in our pool (according to Native American symbolism represents the connection between heaven and earth)

> in the survival of plants received at her funeral (I would have easily killed them off by now under normal circumstances), but Karen loved plants and if there is a way, I am sure she has inspired life in them

> the beautiful pink bloom of a Christmas cactus that she bought some time ago, left on our lanai table by her before her passing

> the frequent notice of significant numbers I am aware of in my daily routine, e.g. her birth date, anniversary dates etc.

> physical sensations I get often e.g., body chills

> the look of a new born granddaughter as I hold her in my arms, realizing the continuum of life in body and spirit

> the memories imprinted on the lives of our children and grandchildren by Karen

> the little notes and varied remembrances left around our home by Karen

> the significant pages book marked by her in so many books she read as she sought more and more knowledge while traveling this earthly plane

> the personal growth I realize I have gained from being with Karen for almost 20 years on my journey

> the people, especially the female nurturing energy, brought into my life since she passed

> the constant inspiration I get from her and her memories and continued love and knowing that the love we had still is and will never die...our connection has just transformed and shifted

I am looking forward to carrying Karen's message forward at a conference next Friday, Jan 8, 2010,

to hopefully help others who are on a similar path to the one she traveled and also to put into book form an extended version of what her experience was and what we both shared together.

As Emerson states "go where there is no path and leave a trail"....Karen surely did that!!

One of Karen's step-daughters (my daughter) Kara and her husband, David have started a non-profit organization, Lindsey's Place, to help disabled children. The project is in the infant stages and with the current global economy is experiencing extreme challenges. I ask you at this time to review the message below and if you can support it in any way, please do so. I hesitated to pass this on because I do not want to abuse the kind intentions and generosity you have displayed for Karen and I in the past by using your e-mail address for anything else except notes related to Karen and myself. After careful reflection and knowing the compassion and care you have expressed in the past, I did not think you would be offended. I will never use your e-mail address irresponsibly; please trust what I say regarding that. Lindsey's Place is genuine and will benefit young innocents who need it. I have recently volunteered to be on the Board and look forward to helping in any way I can as Karen, I am sure would have done. Kara and David have been helping disabled youth for close to 20 years now and are looking to expand their horizons in order to help more people. I pass this on only because I know you to be caring and generous and in this day of modern technology, your help does not necessarily have to be monetary, although that is very much needed, but it can be in the form of heightening awareness via forwarding the enclosed notice about Lindsey's Place to your friends and family...or even posting it on a personal/business web site...or Facebook, Twitter or one of so many other electronic outlets in cyberspace.

Whatever help you can extend, it will be deeply appreciated.

Lindsey's Place Welcomes 2010! 1.01.10 Happy New Year! Dear Patrick, 2009 was a wonderful year for Lindsey's Place. We have made a nice foundation for many years to come. With your help, we have raised awareness to hundreds of people. Our facebook page has 253 friends. Our causes page has reached 715 members! We have received approximately 60 separate donations in 2009. Did you know that you too could raise funding to help Lindsey's Place by going to our causes page and creating a link for your birthday? A Dear Friend's Passing 12-15-09

Violet passed away yesterday. I visited with her in August of this year. Karen and I met her in Germany in the spring of 2007. She was a very brave and caring person and continues as that in spirit form. It was an honor to know her as she walked this earth.
I had not heard from her, but was thinking of her the last few days and when I called yesterday, I learned she had just passed a few hours prior.
Please pray for her soul and the two young adult children she has left behind. May God Bless them all!!

WELCOME TO WEE LILY NOV 12 2009

Wee Lily arrived yesterday evening at 6:21pm to Kara and David (daughter and son-in-law) and to her "patiently" awaiting brothers, Jack and Sam. She arrived weighing in at 7 lbs 4 oz and is the first granddaughter of six grandchildren. We need some female energy and spirit in the physical form after some significant females losses this year in our family (Karen and my Mom, Eileen). Souls moving on and souls arriving, life is an awesome gift and mystery. Lily has some powerful females (spirit guides) watching over her as she embarks on her earthly journey. May God Bless her!
